Well, as you know we had a great time at Willow Springs with Torque.tv shooting the new season of Head to Head. Look for that on StreetFire in a few weeks. Between the action, Miss Torque took a break from her flag waving duties and checked out the new StreetFire GT-R, photo snapping ensued, and the gallery below is what we have to show. Enjoy!
I was very excited to see the new Motor Trend test to find “America’s best handling car”…. though I think it’s silly to not include the Vette, since the ZR1 is just as new as the Shelby 500KR and Viper ACR. That said I was SUPER ANNOYED by the lack of a clear leaderboard. Sheesh, stop trying to placate everyone, man up here and stack these cars properly! Since Motor Trend is too something, to do this, I’ve done it for them based on their own data.
I recenlty made a post on NAGTROC.org to see if any GT-R owners had plans to visit the SEMA show. Didn’t realize there would be so many planning to attend. Watch this space come November for photos and videos of the event.
MC performance ran a RWD dyno of their brand new GT-R with less than 500 miles on the odometer and (worse) 91 Octane Gas. On a cold start, Godzilla hit 447hp at the rear wheels with the front driveshaft removed. I would assume that disconnecting the front wheels would give you some more power to the rear, but I’m very surprised the computer didn’t have a problem with this. Each successive run gets slower as (I assume) the car heats up, with a third run hitting 427hp at the rear wheels. Cool video though.Found via 2009gtr.blogspot.com
